Ethyl acetate is an ester of ethanol and acetic acid. This compound a colorless liquid with characteristic odor. widely used as solvent because its high solubility. The manufacture ethyl (ethyl ester) referred to the esterification process. reaction exothermic reaction, reversible generally runs very slowly so it requires catalyst obtain maximum ester. Domestic demand for increasing, while production in Indonesia still lacking. Reactor design mechanism kinetic data form rate equations constants. study aims determine kinetics etherification acid presented equation, value constant, equilibrium constant. In addition, this research also studied how influence sulfuric on constant balance. was carried out batch reactor. 99% H2SO4 whose concentrations are varied, mixed reactor equipped magnetic stirrer which operated at 400 rpm, then 96% poured volume ratio 1:1 acid, 5 mL sample taken analyze remaining after takes place, every certain time interval be analyzed until point obtained. From results can concluded that produce second order equation (-rA) = k1CACB – k2CCCD.
